General Information
What is Permanent Makeup (PMU)?
Permanent Makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, is the artful implantation of specialized pigment beneath the skin to enhance natural features such as brows, lips, eyes, scalp, or areola. Unlike traditional tattoos, PMU uses softer pigment formulations designed to fade gradually and heal naturally over time.
At INKlined, our approach to PMU is rooted in restraint and precision. Each design is customized to your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals, enhancing your natural beauty while maintaining complete authenticity. The results are subtle, refined, and long-lasting — an effortless enhancement that feels entirely your own.
Which PMU services do you offer?
INKlined offers a comprehensive collection of Cosmetic and Restorative Artistry treatments, each performed with advanced digital techniques for comfort and longevity.

- Hybrid Brows
- Hyper Realism Brows
- Lip Blushing

Restorative Artistry Collection:

Every service is fully machine-based and performed with meticulous care, ensuring your skin's integrity and comfort remain uncompromised.
How long do results last?
The longevity of your PMU results depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare routine. Generally:
- Brows & Lips: 1–3 years
- Eyeliner: 2–5 years
- Scalp Micropigmentation & Areola Restoration: 3–7 years
- Lightening/Removal: varies depending on depth and density of pigment
As the pigment naturally fades over time, it allows for subtle adjustments to color and design during future touch-ups — ensuring your look remains fresh, balanced, and tailored to you. Annual maintenance sessions are recommended to preserve vibrancy.
What makes INKlined different?
Our philosophy combines artistry, anatomy, and empathy. Every service at INKlined is guided by restraint and precision — the belief that luxury lies in subtlety.
We use only the highest-quality pigments, state-of-the-art digital tools, and advanced techniques that honor your skin's natural structure. Every design is customized, every session intentional, and every result timeless.
At INKlined, beauty is not just created — it's curated.
Procedure & Comfort
Is the procedure painful?
Most clients describe PMU as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. At INKlined, we prioritize comfort using professional-grade topical anesthetics before and during the procedure. The sensation varies depending on the area treated, but most clients are pleasantly surprised by how tolerable it feels.
Our advanced digital machines allow for soft, controlled implantation with minimal trauma, significantly reducing discomfort and promoting faster healing.
How many sessions will I need?
Most treatments include two sessions — an initial application followed by a perfecting session approximately 6–10 weeks later.
This second appointment allows your artist to fine-tune details, reinforce color, and ensure perfect balance after your skin has healed. Some corrective or restorative treatments (like Li-FT®, SMP, or Scar Camouflage) may require multiple sessions for optimal results.
Are PMU procedures safe?
Yes. At INKlined, we uphold the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and professionalism.
- All tools are single-use and sterile.
- Pigments are cosmetic-grade, vegan, and cruelty-free.
- Our artists are certified, licensed, and trained in advanced safety protocols.
We strictly adhere to industry regulations and take time to assess your medical history and skin condition before proceeding. Your health and confidence come first, always.
Do results look natural?
Absolutely. INKlined's signature style is refined realism — enhancement that appears seamless and organic. We design each treatment to complement your existing features, never overpower them.
Our goal is for people to notice your beauty, not your procedure. The healed results are soft, elegant, and harmoniously balanced with your natural complexion.
Preparation & Aftercare
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Preparation plays a crucial role in achieving even, long-lasting results.
One Week Before:
- Discontinue use of Retinols, chemical exfoliants, or acne treatments on the area.
- Avoid Botox or filler near the treatment zone for at least two weeks before and after your session.
- Hydrate generously — well-moisturized skin heals beautifully.
24 Hours Before:
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, or ibuprofen (these can thin the blood).
- Refrain from heavy exercise or sweating.
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
Special Notes:
- For Lip Blush clients: begin a gentle exfoliation and hydration routine several days prior.
- For SMP clients: arrive with a freshly shaved and clean scalp if applicable.
What is the healing process like?
Healing is a gentle, gradual process — and one of the most important parts of your PMU journey.
The color may appear slightly darker or bolder as the pigment oxidizes. Mild tenderness and tightness are normal.
Expect light flaking or dryness as the skin naturally exfoliates. Avoid picking or rubbing the area.
The pigment may appear lighter or "hazy" as your skin regenerates; this is temporary.
The true color settles as the skin fully heals and the pigment stabilizes.
We provide detailed aftercare instructions and a specialized balm to support optimal healing and retention.
What aftercare is required?
Aftercare determines how your results heal — it's essential to follow our guidance carefully.
For the first 7–10 days:
- Keep the area clean and dry.
- Avoid sweating, swimming, steam rooms, and makeup on the treated area.
- Gently cleanse only if instructed, using a sterile pad or water wipe.
- Apply the provided aftercare balm sparingly as directed.
Long-term:
- Avoid harsh exfoliants, acids, or laser treatments over the area.
- Always apply SPF to protect pigment vibrancy.
- Schedule maintenance touch-ups every 1–2 years as desired.
Healing varies from person to person, but patience ensures the most beautiful, even result.
How often do I need touch-ups?
A perfecting session is included after your initial procedure. Beyond that, most clients return every 12–24 months for a color refresher. This depends on factors such as skin type, sun exposure, and skincare products used.
Proper sun protection and gentle skincare can significantly extend the life of your results.
Special Considerations
Can I still wear makeup after PMU?
Yes, but not immediately. Once healing is complete, you can wear traditional makeup over or around your PMU if you wish. Many clients find they need significantly less daily makeup because their features are already beautifully defined.
Your enhanced features serve as a natural base, allowing you to feel polished and confident even on makeup-free days.
Who should avoid PMU?
Permanent Makeup may not be suitable for individuals who:
- Are pregnant or nursing
- Have uncontrolled diabetes, active skin conditions, or open wounds in the area
- Are currently on Accutane or have used it within the past year
- Have had recent chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments
- Have certain medical conditions that affect healing or blood clotting
If you're unsure, we recommend scheduling a consultation — we'll evaluate your skin and overall health to ensure PMU is a safe choice for you.
What if I have previous PMU from another artist?
If you have existing permanent makeup, a consultation is required before booking. Our artist will assess your pigment's tone, saturation, and placement to determine whether correction, lightening, or full removal is necessary before proceeding with new work.
In some cases, Li-FT® Saline Lightening is recommended to create a fresh, even canvas for optimal results.
Specialized Services
What is Li-FT® Saline Lightening and tattoo removal?
Li-FT® Saline Lightening is a non-laser, saline-based method used to lift and fade unwanted pigment safely. It's ideal for correcting old or uneven permanent makeup, small tattoos, or emergency pigment extractions.
Unlike laser removal, Li-FT® doesn't alter pigment color or damage the surrounding skin. The saline solution gently breaks down pigment particles, which are then naturally expelled through your skin's healing process. The result is gradual, controlled lightening with minimal risk.
This method is safe for all skin tones and can be repeated as needed to achieve your desired level of lightness or to prepare for a new design.
How do Areola Restoration and SMP differ?
While both treatments are restorative, they serve very different purposes:
Areola Restoration
A paramedical tattoo that recreates the look of natural areolas and nipples after breast reconstruction or surgery. It focuses on realism, color harmony, and emotional healing.
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)
A cosmetic procedure that simulates natural hair follicles to create the illusion of hair density for thinning or balding areas.
Both are performed with precision, empathy, and an understanding of how artistry can restore confidence in deeply personal ways.

Booking begins with a personalized consultation. During your session, we'll discuss your goals, skin history, and pigment suitability, and design a treatment plan that reflects your individuality.
